January 22nd, 23rd & 24th

Enofusión, the International Wine Conference, will hold its eighth edition on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of January 2018 in Madrid’s Exhibitions Center, together with “Madrid Fusión”, the Gastronomic Summit of Madrid Fusion. Enofusión will be the perfect stage to promote wine within gastronomy and through prestigious tasting sessions, technical talks, tasting areas and also novelties thanks to wineries, designations of origin and a wide variety of companies from the sector.

This event offers an unmatched setting to promote a product as unique as wine. In order to meet the different needs of each winery or company, Enofusión is structured into several areas: the EnoBar, is a bar with more than one hundred wine references, where wineries can display their favorite wines, as part of their promotional and marketing plan, allowing the attendees to independently taste them; the area Expobodegas, where wineries or companies can present their projects, wine references and novelties; and El Centro del Vino (The Wine Center), an area dedicated to technical talks and tasting sessions aimed at professionals from the sector.

Enofusión is a conference dedicated to more than 10.000 professional visitors who attend every year, amongst whom are sommeliers, chefs, restaurateurs, distributors, specialized press and gastronomy lovers.

Enofusión’s EnoBar is the area where visitors are free to taste a wide selection of wines: from sparkling, white and rosé wines to red, liqueur and sweet wines. EnoBar offers dozens of wine references that show the remarkable diversity, originality and quality of wines from every winemaking region.

During the last Enofusión, at the EnoBar, more than 200 wine references from all over Spain were tasted. The wines are distributed at various counters and are methodically sorted and identified with a tasting card, which includes the characteristics of each product and the winemaker contact.

This is a very interesting option for wineries to display their wines because visitors can independently taste them and, after, directly contact the producer thanks to the data provided on the card. Alternatively they can call in at the corresponding booth, if such company takes part in Expobodegas, in order to find out more about the winery or group.

Spread over three areas, this area is specifically designed to enhance contacts between wineries and clients. Expobodegas gives wineries the opportunity to display and explain their products. Enofusión’s Expobodegas targets a specific professional profile: sommeliers, suppliers, restaurateurs, etc. The stand is delivered on a turnkey basis and during the course of the conference. A complete and very professional service is provided, so that exhibitors only have to worry about developing their most appropriate business contacts.

During the 2017’s edition, more than 50 companies took part in Expobodegas: from major groups such as Makro, Torres and Gil Family Estates, to Designations of Origin: Ribeiro, Catalunya and Sidra de Asturias (Cider of Asturias), and also wineries ranging from Tagonius, Pago de los Balancines, Bodegas Carchelo, Codorníu, Callejo, Campos Reales, Bodegas Altanza, Carrascas or Javier Sanz Winegrower. In addition to other companies from the sector such as Botello, Botella Beronesa and Koala.

In a bid to meet market trends, this exhibition space offers specialized areas like the area devoted to vermouth, or an area for small producers, where various wineries with very limited productions and of great quality presented their enological projects.

Expobodegas is designed for wineries and wine producers of all sizes, appellations of origin, official organizations and export consortia, among other collectives. It doesn’t matter the type of wine, nor its origin, what matter is its quality and the exhibitor’s desire to enhance contacts with the industry’s professionals in a direct manner.

CENTRO DEL VINO (The Wine Center)

The Wine Center is the most popular area of Enofusion, due to the unique and exciting tasting sessions (some of them already legendary ones) held during the last six editions. An area designed for high-level educational tastings, experiencing all sorts of wine-pairings, discovering novelties or presenting innovative products, as well as for enjoying anthological vintages, oenological treasures and emblematic wines from renowned wineries, in addition to many other activities; which are carried out by key professionals in the wine industry (prestigious winemakers, prominent experts and great new talents) with a seating capacity of 80 people.

The Wine Center was conceived in order to experience wine culture and it is designed for debate, reflection and analysis of the industry’s trends through tasting sessions and talks selected for their importance and their exceptional quality.

During the last seven years, Enofusión’s tasting area was the center stage of more than one hundred activities. Having witnessed legendary sessions such as the masterful tasting sessions devoted to outstanding wine bijous such as the Hungarian Tokajis, the 2014 Robert Parker’s 100 point wines of 2014, wine references from Château Angélus and Château Margaux, a selection of fine Pedro Ximénez, remarkable Muscatels from Setúbal or wine cellar collections of the Freixenet group. This area is also committed to showing the latest novelties, trends and curiosities from the sector, such as ancestral varieties recovered by Bodegas Torres or Vintae’s Grenache Project. Not forgetting the heartfelt tributes to major wine names, alongside excellent tasting sessions in their honor, such as the homage to Alejandro Fernández, President of Pesquera Group or to Luis Miguel Beneyto, attached to Marqués de Riscal for a great many years.

Wine-pairing and gastronomic symphonies are also key to Enofusión, where very original pairings are created; as for example: Sake and Iberian Jam, Wine and Chocolates, Ribeiro and Fine canned food from the Sea, together with tasting sessions of haute cuisine created –for several editions– by chef Íñigo Lavado for Makro, by chef Juan Antonio Medina for Freixenet or by chef Quim Casellas for designations of origin such as Catalunya or Prosecco. In addition to all of this, this area hosts innovative activities such as Speed Tasting, and also activities related to non-wine products like extra virgin olive oil or spirits.

For its eighth year running, Enofusión will once again count on the presence of remarkable professionals and selected wineries in order to analyze the current oenological landscape, but also to augment its historical heritage and keep ahead of future trends.

El Centro del Vino –or The Wine Center– offers two different ways to participate: individually (a single winery, group or designation of origin) or collectively (a group or gathering of different wineries or companies united under the same proposal).

In this area, Enofusión opens the door wide so that different producers can present their wines collectively. Thus, smaller wineries, small-scale productions and/or cutting-edge products can be exhibited in groups, allowing them to be able to conduct a tasting session, under the same thematic thread.
